From residence permit to citizenship
Where the short-term residence permit fits in the journey.
In the investment route, a short-term residence permit is typically issued to support the citizenship application — it is a procedural step, not the years-long residency required for ordinary naturalisation. The investment itself, not time lived in Turkey, is what qualifies you.

Is this the same as living in Turkey for years?
No. Ordinary naturalisation requires years of actual residency. The investment route grants citizenship based on the qualifying investment, with a short-term residence permit used as part of the process. You do not need to relocate.
